SEMINARY!?
Ok, so I never in a million years would have ever even dreamed that the idea would even be a spark in my head, but I guess somehow God can have other plans for us. Since starting to attend Mercy Vineyard Church, I have felt more and more of a tug on my heart for God's ministry. Working with the youth group is amazing, the kids are so great. I feel like the church is truly a place for healing and for fellowship. The people are amazing. And so, I have been trying to fight it but I feel that God may possibly be calling me to a future in the church. Crazy, right?? I know that I have always thought I had everything figured out: college, work, and career. But maybe there is a different path for me? Perhaps it begins with an internship at the church and enrolling in the Vineyard Church Certification program? At this point I really don't have any clue. Maybe I'm just meant to be a volunteer, but maybe more? Who knows. But at this point, I am praying like crazy that God will make it very clear to me what my involvement should look like. Your prayers are greatly appreciated too! Love always, Nikki

My Best Friend in the Whole Wide World and Mother's Day Prep
So, I am incredibly thrilled that my very best friend Emily got to come up and see me last night after work! We went to the Mall of America and got some dinner, and then bought her a graduation dress and jewelry. As she says, its so Jackie O. Then we came back to my apartment and watched One Tree Hill of course! Ate popcorn, etc. It was a pretty low key night but so so fun. She had to leave early this morning which is always sad but I'm just glad she got to come visit me! Plus I don't think she slept very well, lol.
Ok, let me vent here for a second....what is it with card shops!? I was in Hallmark yesterday picking out Mother's Day cards and they have cards for that category all the way to the back wall! Categories include: Mother-In-Law, Single Mother, Mother who is a Friend, Grand and Great Grand Mother, For my Wife, From Both of Us, the list goes on and on. And then of course within the categories there are so many different options to choose from...do I get the flashy, fun card, or the sincere, gooshy card? Do I get the $2 card or the $7 card (which by the way, I am appaled that they could even charge $7 for a card)? And then it gets more complicated when you have to get more than one. Do I buy the 6 pack of generic Mother's Day cards? Of course not! Especially when the women you are giving them to will likely be opening them together. Needless to say, after awhile in the store, picking cards up and putting them back, I finally found the right ones. I won't tell you what I picked just yet, but I think I did pretty good.
Until next time,

Why Work Sucks!
Ugh, so here is my day so far: I start getting ready for work, revving myself up to spend 4 hours making cappuccinos. Boss calls, tells me that we have too many employees and not enough business, my shift is cancelled. Hooray! I decide to go home to Rochester for a few days and make plans with my family, Emily, and Lexi. I pack everything up and head towards the door when my boss calls again. Sorry, we made a mistake, you still need to come into work. UGH!!!! So now I'm sitting here getting ready for work. On the bright side, Emily may be able to come visit me for a few hours, which is better than nothing! I just miss my family and friends, being home. But I will be home soon enough. Until then, I love you all! NCTAY

A Boring Life is a Good Life
Sometimes I sit around thinking about how boring my life can be at times. Today I got done with class 2 hours early, and came home to do some housework and homework before settling in with a big plate of hasbrowns to watch One Tree Hill. I started feeling sorry for myself, before realizing, "what's the big deal??" Sometimes a boring point in life can be the very best thing to happen to a person. Un-boring could mean a health problem, unemployment, too much homework, or fighting with someone I love. Boring can be just what the DR ordered for a somewhat chaotic life.
In other news, I ordered the second season of 7th Heaven today. I think that I am probably one of the only people to have actually purchased this show recently. Watching season 1 I remembered how incredibly cheesy the show was, but also how much times have changed. The show began the year that I was born, and watching it now, I look back at how much more wholesome things were then. Yes, the show still has drugs and sex and alcohol, but unlike a lot of television today, these things aren't condoned in the show, but rather, examined in full to their consequences.
Well, I'm starting to feel that I'm rambling a bit, so until next time, enjoy a happy and thoroughly BORING life! :D
